DAY 1: What is your story so far?

 

So far, before 2022, your life and career have been like a roller-coaster ride with highs and lows. Would you agree?

You’ve achieved professionally and personally what at times seemed impossible.

Other times, life knocked you on your knees with unsurmountable challenges and curveballs, and the daily battles with self-doubt, anxiety, imposter syndrome, negative chatter, you name it.

DAY 1, our goal is to put a pin on the map and figure out what has been your story so far. We also want to find what's driving you to write a great story and make a change in 2022.

DAY 1, Q1: How would you describe your career story up to now?

Another way to reflect on this question is, imagine you’re meeting an old, trusted childhood friend. In a few sentences, what story will you tell your friend about your career/life up to now? (your highs, lows, accomplishments, mistakes, and lessons you would spotlight across your years of experience?)

Now is the PERFECT TIME to get clear on your story thus far and reflect on the successes and “lessons learned” that helped shape you today. This story gives you great context to create your story and make a change in 2022.

From your current story, let’s dive into what could be motivating you to create a different story and make a change in 2022.

DAY 1, Q2: What’s a compelling reason to create a new story or make a change happen in 2022?

Along with the second question, please answer Yes or No to these four statements:

  • I’m no longer willing to tolerate another year of the “same.” I have big plans and dreams for my career and will not settle. (Yes/No)

  • Time is of the essence!—at this age and stage of my career, I can’t afford to waste any more time, and I’m determined to make it happen. (Yes/No)

  • I’m ready for the next level. I need to acquire new skills and relationships to help me get there faster (Yes/No)

  • I'm tired of waiting for the "right opportunity." I want clarity on my 12-month vision and the following steps to make it happen. (Yes/No)

The value you’ll bring is what will help you increase your impact, contributions and grow your earning potential and pay.

Let’s explore it together.

Before you proceed, ensure that you answer the questions for Day 1 and Day 2. Day 3 builds on those questions.

DAY 3, Q1: How will your new story and change create value for you and everyone around you?  

In other words, how will you and others benefit?

As you envision YOUR compelling story and change for 2022 to answer this question, consider:

  • The significant problems you’ll be solving.

  • The impact you will have on your team members, their performance, the company’s, other departments and employees, etc.

  • How you will improve your career, health, emotional well-being, finances, relationships, family, joy, confidence, impact, influence, contributions, fulfillment, etc.

Understanding the VALUE you'll bring, you tap all your resources and commit yourself to create your story and making the change you want in 2022 a reality.

However, the change you want in 2022 won’t happen magically. Otherwise, we would have already done it in previous years.

If we’re being honest, we know that you will face challenges along the way like all of us.

Let’s uncover the potential boulders you may run into.

DAY 3, Q2: What boulders/obstacles do you foresee in 2022?

Said differently, what can get in the way of creating your story and making this change?

After 30 years in my professional career, I know that creating a new story and changing

require resourcefulness, effort, energy, time, strategy, the right mindset, and often financial investments.  

I speak from experience.

To create my current dream role, I've invested over $70K in myself in the last five years.

I invested in certification training, coaching, and masterminds with experts who've helped me grow faster and create my compelling story of becoming an international motivational speaker, leadership coach, career strategist, and two-time #1 bestselling author.

I share this not to boast but rather to spotlight that all of it didn't happen by accident. I had to do what I'm helping you do now to get to where I am today— first to gain clarity and then to implement your compelling story with a clear roadmap in hand.

And I know that investing in ourselves can feel much more complicated than investing in our kids, partners, family members, etc.

Often, we tend to put ourselves last—but at what price? Your career, your success, your full earning potential?

DAY 4: What are 3 MUST DOs?

 

You’re on Day 4 of our journey to “Make it happen in 2022.”

When we get to the “finish” line on Friday, 1/21, you’ll know what you want for your career and team in 2022, how you’ll add the most value, and what you’ll need to do to make it a reality.

Missed previous days' questions, you can catch up on Day 1, 2, or 3 above.

I’ve learned and experienced the critical components to achieving a change and goal during 30 years in the industry, including five years as a full-time leadership coach for top Fortune 500 leaders and executives.

Do you want to know what the three MUST DOs are? Ready?

It requires:

  1. Building a growth mindset.

  2. Having the right strategies.

  3. Taking consistent, massive action through completion.

Easier said than done? It is when you’re doing it alone.

That's why we'll support you Friday, 1/21, by showing you how you can develop a growth mindset, learn new strategies that will help you, and stay in momentum to implement what you're learning and make it happen in 2022.

You already identified the foreseeable obstacles to you turning your 2022 epic story into a reality. These are the boulders we can strategize around.

However, aside from those natural obstacles, your mindset and other familiar sources of frustration can quickly stop you before you even get started creating your epic story in 2022.

Today, with love and compassion as your coach, it’s crucial that you get clear on your “go-to” excuses. We all have them.

DAY 4, Q1. Which of these can be a source of frustration for you?

  1. I don’t have time to focus on myself.

  2. I feel overwhelmed, anxious, confused.

  3. I don’t have the money or the support to invest in myself.

  4. I don’t know if this approach will work for me. I start and lose motivation.

  5. Fears, limiting stories—I’m not ______ enough (fill in the blank)

  6. Self-doubt, lack of confidence, procrastination.

  7. Others?

On Friday, we’ll dive into these mindset goal killers.

DAY 4, Q2. Imagine what will happen when you shift your mindset? Which of these resonate with you?

  1. I’ll advance my career and grow.

  2. I’ll strengthen my relationships, deepen my sense of belonging and connection.

  3. I’ll position myself strategically.

  4. I’ll build leadership skills.

  5. I’ll increase my visibility and the opportunities.

  6. I’ll increase my impact and contributions.

DAY 5: MAKE IT HAPPEN IN 2022!

For now, on Day 5, we shift your focus to identifying the reasons why you’ll succeed in creating a significant change and epic story in 2022.

How will you succeed? Let us count the ways.

You’ll succeed when you fully commit to getting what you want—no excuses.

  • DAY 5, Q1. What are you willing to commit to that will enable you to succeed in creating YOUR compelling story in 2022?

Once clear on the commitments you’re willing to take on, you buy into your story, which is indispensable to making it happen and achieving your goal in 2022.

Without being committed, the resources can be right in front of you, and you continue to ignore them, and you’re close to receiving the support you need and going for it.

Instead, you’ll continue to “dream about it,” but nothing will actually change—Trust me. It would be best if you didn’t regret wasting yet another year.

So, assuming you don’t want to WASTE your time and wait another year and that you are committing to making your story in 2022 happen, let’s get clear on the resources you’ll need.

  • DAY 5, Q2. What resources will you need to be successful in 2022?

In 2017 when I switched careers, I had to exponentially develop a growth mindset and shift from old, small thinking to appreciate all that was possible for me in my future career.
