How to Create a Tangible Target and Grow

We must create tangible reachable goals. One of those is around the impact that we want to have in the world.

The impact that we have is 100% correlated with the number of people we serve—the number of people we serve also translates into the revenues we generate for the business.

Maybe some of us have been raised with the notion that money is a bad thing.

In this article, my focus is to help you shift that notion because the more money we make, the more good we can do in the world with that money, including supporting our family members' dreams and goals and the causes we believe in.

Because I was born in a small village and come from humble beginnings, it's meaningful to me to support and allocate time and financial resources to help children get an education. In my experience, education creates a gateway for those children like me to become productive members of society and rise above poverty and their circumstances.

When you make money, you're able to contribute to causes at a grander scale.

My mentors have helped me shift from a scarcity money mindset to an abundance money mindset. And as a result, I know, today, that being abundant financially, emotionally, and spiritually is a good thing.

What does this mean for your business or career?

It's crucial to have specific revenue goals.

I have a specific revenue goal for this year, the next level that I want to reach in my business. Then I reverse engineered it based on the services and products I offer. If I want to generate $X amount this year, what does that mean in terms of the number of clients I serve?

X (clients you need to serve) = Your $Target$ / $Y (the cost of your product/service).

To figure out how many clients you'll need to serve, X, take your target amount and divide by the price you charge for each product/service. If you have various offerings, figure out your target for each and calculate how many clients you'd need for each of your offerings.

As a business owner, concrete revenue targets will help you stay focused, resourceful, and committed to grow your impact and serve as many people as possible for the highest good of all.

If you work in a business or corporate role, consider learning the skill set in high demand in your field due to the market trends, which once you know it will command a higher wage or salary. It's never too late to learn new skills, e.g., earn a Lean Six Sigma Certification, earn your PMP, Project Management Professional certification, take a communications course, gain leadership skills, etc. Continuous learning is essential to developing and keeping a competitive edge.

I know ... it may sound exhausting. I get curious and lean into my passions to steer me in the right direction as to how I want to create and maintain that competitive edge. Perpahs, this approach may serve you as well.

Let's entertain the possibilities as we, in this community, become vigilant about identifying clear goals and clear revenue targets, not soft targets, and then, let's reverse engineer our way into it. Let's back into it by figuring out what we'll need to do to achieve them.

Having a clear vision and future targets will drive your marketing, sales, and all the efforts and energy you invest into your business. Throughout the year, you can track how you're doing toward your targets. You can also enlist your team and people to support you as you move forward.

When we fail to create concrete goals and targets, with flexibility, year after year, we fail to make the impact we want. I'm saying this from a place of love and abundance; let's be more realistic around what the goals and numbers look like, and then less back into those goals and numbers.

If you have questions about this topic, let's chat over a 15-minute cyber coffee. I would love to connect with you, specifically about any limitations that you may be experiencing around a money mindset that may be holding you back from growing your business or career.

In the meantime, be fearless! (act despite the fear)
